Hey Folks,
First off, just want to thank you for picking up tickets to the Highline Ballroom shows! We are hoping that these shows can be more than just reunion concerts and that is why we've been working on recording new tunes. We have all been busy with different projects, but The Bogmen is a special project for all of us, especially because of you and your enthusiasm!
Mark came in from LA a few weeks ago, and Clive is going to track some more in Hawaii.
We will work out hardest to get you some fresh material, to add to what we've done in the past. So far, we have a nice mix of what I would say music influenced by or sounding similar to Tom Waits, Devo, Bowie, The Clash, The Pixies, Elvis Costello, Vic Thrill, The Bogmen, GanoRyan etc....
I'm getting the sense it's been a long winter for everyone. We're really looking forward to these May dates!!
Thanks to all and can't wait to see you in May!

Hey Gang,

We've been mixing down the first round of new songs and they're sounding very lively.

The plan is to play a few shows in NYC in mid-May and release an EP around that time.

From us Bogs,

Thank you ALL for supporting us at the Nokia the other night. Your support really means a lot to us and inspires to us to keep writing and recording. We'll be working together over the next few months to whip together some new tunes and hopefully a full length by the fall of '09.

Along the way we'll post new ideas and videos and keep you all posted about our various endeavors.

Bogmen Holiday Video Contest

Send us 30 seconds of home holiday video and we'll project it at the show!

For those of you who will be in attendance on Dec. 20th, we are holding a 30 Second Holiday Video Contest. Shoot or dig up 30 seconds of video from old home movies that captures how you and your family celebrate the holidays. This should be VERY SIMPLE using any video capturing device - cell phone, digital camera, camcorder, etc... Here are some ideas of holiday traditions to get you started:

Do you dress up as Santa? Do you go ice skating at Rockefeller Center? Is your house heavily decorated? Do you play a back yard football game? Do you lay out an elaborate electric train setup that goes around your Christmas tree, yadayda?

One example with the Campion family is that we sing "Happy Birthday" to the baby Jesus with a cake and one candle on it. Someone always makes the crack "who's gonna blow out the candle, the Holy Spirit?"

Hopefully you get the idea!

Submissions start TODAY and the only requirement is that you'll be in attendance at the show. The winner(s) will be awarded an assortment of one-of-a-kind Bogmen merchandise, backstage passes to hang with the band and more TBA.

HOW TO GET IT TO US: Once you've finished editing your piece, save it as a compressed video file (mov, mpg, mpeg, wmv, avi) and email it to PRESS@VICTHRILL.COM. If you're having trouble sending the file because it's too large, email us at the same address sans attachment and we'll help you out!

WHY?

Our shows have always been like giant family reunions and doing something like this will bring an even closer-knit feeling to the night, seeing yourself, family or people you know up on the screen that are in the audience - it'll bring good, good, good vibrations to the room!
